Energizing Tier 1 for All Stakeholders

Descriptor

In this session, the administration and SW-PBS team from Alpha Hart Lewis Elementary School will guide participants through how to motivate students, staff, and families in order to implement Tier 1 practices with fidelity. Whether it’s high staff turnover or needing to reenergize your practices, you will receive creative strategies and tools that you can walk away with today and use tomorrow.

Come learn the SEL and relationship-building strategies that the presenters of this session have used in their classrooms to support positive behavior. When They Need More — Moving Beyond Tier 1

What do you do when Tier 1 strategies are not enough for a student to be successful? You move on to individualized strategic implementations in Tier 2 and/or Tier 3. We knew that some students needed more in order to be successful. It would take a team (families, students, staff, and outside agencies) to provide the resources, strategies, and motivation needed to ensure student success. Travel with us as we share the journey we’ve been on to meet the individual and unique needs of today’s students.

  • Learn how our students move up and down the tiered system for success through SEL interventions, strategies, and resources in place

Tiger Transformation is a process developed to identify high-needs students and to address their specific Tier 2 behaviors. Come learn about this program’s selection process, scheduling, implementation, and follow-up. Participants will walk away with practical strategies to address the behavioral needs of students who are disengaged and disruptive.

A Framework to Make SW-PBS Work — Early Childhood Special Education Edition

How does the SW-PBS system work for a special education preschool? This session will address how we adapted the information provided in Tier 1 to benefit our youngest learners including some with special needs. Participants will be introduced to the various materials used by our district as well as our path to successful Tier 1 implementation.

  • Be able to identify basic needs in order to begin developing a matrix for preschool and early childhood special education settings
