This session will show how SW-PBS systems that are developed and implemented properly can sustain the test of time and the ever-changing world of education. Come discover how efficient and effective practices that meet the needs of students and staff are easy for families to buy into and support.

Have you ever wanted to get middle school students to buy into SWPBS? Would you like to raise staff and student morale? Have you ever wanted less work for your staff, or students who want to be given responsibility? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then this session is for you! Participants will receive resources and learn about our journey utilizing leadership classes to encourage student ownership of our SW-PBS systems.

SESSION OUTCOMES:

• Learn about practices that give students voice, increase buy-in for SWPBS systems, and raise school spirit at the middle school level
• Discover how staff can use leadership classes to delegate responsibilities to students
• Learn how our students have brought positive interactions into the community to promote our school

In this session, secondary schools will have an opportunity to share their ideas and practices on implementing SW-PBS in their buildings with similar schools. Participants will collaborate with other secondary school personnel who are using SW-PBS to support student behavior at the secondary level. Come prepared to share your own ideas and to brainstorm new ones.

SESSION OUTCOME:

• Gain insight and new perspectives on how other secondary schools around the state are implementing SW-PBS

Microsoft Excel includes a powerful tool called Power Query. This tool allows users to quickly and easily pull data from a variety of sources (including online), clean up the data, perform simple calculations, make connections, and run reports based on different data sets. By the end of this session, you will be able to run reports on students that make the triangulation of academic and behavioral data relatively easy. (While this is a beginners course in Power Query, it is for more advanced Excel users.)

SESSION OUTCOMES:

• Understand what Power Query is and what it can do
• Learn the basics of cleaning up data
• Be able to write simple “if, then, else” formulas
• Create a simple data model that combines and compares different data sets

In this session, participants will receive resources, data-based decision models, agenda templates, and other materials that have helped us to become a school recognized for SW-PBS. Come learn about all three tiers, and gain materials and information to assist you on your own SWPBS journey.

SESSION OUTCOMES:

• Interact with a variety of Tier 1 strategies that help with schoolwide implementation
• Identify Tier 2 strategies, agendas, and data-based decision models that assist students who need additional support
• Learn ways to support students who require Tier 3 services that span academic and social-emotional needs as well as behavioral needs

This session will focus on how to implement SW-PBS in grades PreK-12. Minors and majors may look different at different grade levels; but through consistency with language and staff buy-in (matrix, expectations, Check In, Check Out), the framework can be implemented universally in all grades. Learn how to provide safe and equitable interventions that support students of all ages in learning how to self-regulate and minimize the loss of instruction.

• Understand how to implement SW-PBS in elementary, middle school, and high school settings
• Discover ways to implement a safe, neutral, and equitable space for all students to self-regulate and reach behavioral and academic success

Discover Lebanon High School’s efforts to strengthen its integrated tiered system of support by addressing academic, behavioral, and social needs. Using its academy teams, our high school is turning challenges into successes by incorporating SW-PBS and RTI with the academy model. This session will describe Lebanon High’s processes, successes, challenges, and plans to continue developing its successful integration.
