Research by McKintosh, Frank, and Spaulding (2010) and Predy, McIntosh, and Frank (2014) demonstrates that students who have 2 or more Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs) by October are on a trajectory to have 6 or more ODRs by the end of the year. Catching these students early can break this cycle, and get them the supports they need to have a successful school year. Consider using 2 ODRs by October as one decision rule for referring students to your Tier 2 or Tier 3 team.
