The second annual MO SW-PBS Film Festival will take place during the 2017 Summer Training Institute.
The purpose of the Film Festival is to compile a Missouri sampling of SW-PBS videos created by schools. One session at STI 2017 will be dedicated to viewing some of the submitted SW-PBS videos. There will be a light-hearted competition to acknowledge “best” videos in a variety of categories. To enter a video for consideration for inclusion, please complete the Film Fest proposal form at https://goo.gl/forms/FhQECdDOgvOLu6zv2
Suggestions for Creating SW-PBS Films
The link below provides a scoring guide that can be used as you develop videos to teach social skills lessons to students. This scoring guide will be used to determine which films meet criteria to be included in the film festival. Please do not use students to demonstrate inappropriate behaviors. Students should only demonstrate appropriate or expected behaviors!
Example: Antioch Middle School Student Made Video: Don’t be a Bully, Be a Friend
“Don’t Be a Bully, Be a Friend” was named the 2013 Best Middle School Bully
Prevention Video during the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Film Festival that was held in
conjunction with the Association for Positive Behavior Supports 2013 international conference. (www.apbs.org)
