The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Elementary is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (MO SW-PBS) Summer Institute, Missouri SW-PBS: A Partner in School Success will be held June 14-15, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia, Missouri.
The 6th Annual MO SW-PBS Summer Institute will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from experts in the field of Schoolwide Positive Behavior Supports, hear from schools and districts offering effective strategies, and be recognized for the outstanding work completed by schools in Missouri.
National, state and regional experts, along with experienced SW-PBS school district personnel will lead schools and districts in furthering their skills. Training in proactive implementations of evidence-based strategies for the integration of effective academic, social and behavioral skills will be featured. Other topics will include response to intervention (RtI), Tier 2 systems for at-risk students, Tier 3 systems for students with most intense needs, parent and family partnerships, district-level implementation, school-based mental health, classroom strategies, and administrator leadership. In addition, also presenting: over 125 faculty, staff and administrators from 33 schools representing 22 districts; personnel from all 10 RPDCs and Special School District representing SW-PBS and other initiatives; faculty from universities across Missouri and nation; and personnel from numerous organizations and programs, all of whom are collaborative partners with MO SW-PBS in serving schools across Missouri.
The following strands will be included as part of the MO SW-PBS Summer Institute:
June 13: On-Site registration will be available beginning from 1:00-4:00.
June 14: On-site Registration from 8:00-11:00. The first session will begin at 9:00. Regional breakout meetings, breakout sessions, featured Keynote Speakers and the annual Recognition Ceremony will be held that day. Attendees will receive a continental breakfast and lunch. The evening of June 14th will feature the annual Poster Session with refreshments.
June 15: Additional breakout sessions, Team Building, Guided Networking and another featured Keynote Speaker. Attendees will receive breakfast and a box lunch.
