Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) is a proactive approach to put behavioral/social skills strategies in place for all students while also building in support for those at risk for and/or those who receive special education services.

Survey Data

A variety of surveys are utilized by SW-PBS schools in Missouri to provide critical information from various stakeholder groups and external observers regarding factors such as: the fidelity of implementation of the initiative, the social validity of the process, or the social validity of the outcomes. The information that is gained from the surveys is vital to the day-to-day intervention planning and yearly Action Planning process that is at the code of this team driven school improvement process. A multi-year Assessment Schedule for MO SW-PBS has been developed and schools are directed to take surveys dependent upon their phase and level of implementation, which is designated collaboratively by the school team, the coach and the Regional Consultant based on data-based and artifacts review.

In order to promote efficient and effective use of survey data for planning activities the individual items from each survey were analyzed to identify which of the 7 Essential Components the survey item provides infromation for. From this analysis individual data-based review templates have also been developed.
